The Peer Mentorship Programme aims to help students navigate life at Ashoka and beyond. From handling economics courses to writing research papers, looking for internships and postgraduate programs, assessing available career paths after economics, or any other such daunting tasks, our peer mentors are here to assist and support you in the various facets of life as an Ashokan Economics student.

Meet the Mentors
Arnav mehra
Peer mentor
Arnav is an Eco-Fin major with a serious interest in investments - public and private markets. He is also currently doing research on commodity investments. Arnav has experience in multiple finance firms like Isquared Capital, The Sparke Fund, M1xchange, etc and he's always open for a conversation about anything related to finance but almost never open to talking about politics :)
Ayush shahi

Ayush is a UG24, pursuing an Economics and Finance major. Contrary to popular sentiment at Ashoka, he actually loves his econ major. Ayush is the president of the social impact club and he wishes to pursue a career somewhere at the intersection of social impact and economics. He also attended summer school at LSE and would love to chat about that and any doubts you may have about navigating life at Ashoka!

Kritika is an econ-fin major. Her interest lies broadly in economics, psychology, and entrepreneurship. Through her internships, she has tried to explore as many areas as possible to make sure I put my best foot forward. She'd love to share her insights from everything she has learned so far!

Debdoot is a third-year student at Ashoka University pursuing a major in Economics and a minor in Philosophy. His competence lies in communications, strategy, and research. He has had the opportunity to work on cool projects in these mentioned domains with reputed organizations such as Nestle, HP Tech Ventures, Hindustan Times, Tata Steel, and EY.

Manya is pursuing an Eco-fin major and can help out with academics, resumes, applying for masters, and networking with professors. Manya also interned at Delloite and has been working as a Research Assistant with an economics professor. She's also a huge fan of chick flicks and Bollywood; loves dancing and food :)

Bilquis is a UG24 Economics & Finance major, with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. She can help with any questions related to these as well as any other things related to Ashoka in general. She has worked as a Product Intern at Flourish, Business Consulting Intern at Leap Cities, and Risk & Advisory Intern at Grant Thornton. Beyond this, she has had the opportunity to delve into both the research and corporate realms, and would be happy to share her experiences in that regard as well!

Namya is a third year from Pune. She is pursuing an Economics and Finance major with a Math conc. She switched majors from Math CS to Eco-fin and can help plan academic trajectories to help you explore your options and interests. Namya has gained practical experience through internships at CHAI, CEDA, and Teach for India and as the Vice-President of Ashoka Consulting Club. Happy to answer any questions and offer insights on course selection, extracurriculars, or handling the multiple aspects of life at Ashoka.
Nandini krishnan

Nandini Krishnan is an incoming ASP. She has completed a major in Economics and a concentration in Mathematics. She is looking to pursue an advanced major in her fourth year. Her major interests lie in economic research and in the development sector. She has worked as a volunteer intern for Etasha (NGO), as a product development intern for Edelweiss, and as a RA for Ashoka University and FICC.She can also offer insights into external research competitions and opportunities that may help someone particularly interested in economic research.

Prabal Agarwal is a 3rd-year Economics and Finance student. He is a part of various clubs such as the Venture Capital Vertical and Ashoka Investment Club. Prabal has internships across domains - Investment banking at Novistra Capital, due diligence intern at Inflection Point Ventures, research intern at Invest India, etc. but his primary interests lie in the startup and VC space.

Rohan gupta

Rohan is a UG'24 pursuing Economics-Finance with a minor in Entrepreneurship. He has a keen interest in Finance and aims to be an Investment Banker soon. Rohan has gained practical exposure by working as an intern in equity research at Hem Securities and also in investment banking at Rungta Advisors. He has intentions of pursuing an MSc in Finance in the near future. In his free time, he loves to play basketball, write poetry, and watch random interesting YouTube videos.

Rudransh joined Ashoka as a CS major but he pivoted to Economics after his first year with a potential minor in Computer Science. He also found the Consulting Club in the process and is leading it in the capacity of President this year! He has worked with TCPD and the governemnt on a couple of projects.

Soumil Agarwal

Soumil completed an Eco-Fin degree and is going to do courses in Math and CS this year. He is into dev econ research, applied methods of ML, and data science in econ and finance, and have an interest in the finance industry as well. Soumil possesses an extensive array of experiences, including stints as a research assistant with economics professors and internships at CEDA, TCPD, and even the World Bank Treasury.

Shambhavi Lal is a rising ASP'24 student. She is an Economics major and a Psychology minor. She served as the Economic Students Representative for the last year and is currently heading ABIT's Research Lab. She is passionate about working toward social impact and community development, welfare, and policy. She has also worked in a diverse array of organizations ranging from PwC to PARI and CSEP.
Shreedaya Arvind

Shreedaya is an economics major, with a psychology and math concentration. She has worked with M S Swaminathan Research Foundation, CSBC, and with doctoral candidates at NYU and Columbia University as research assistants. She is broadly interested in working within the spaces of development, policy, and/or academia. She has also been training as a Bharatanatyam dancer for over 14 years!

Tanmaiy Mohta

Tanmaiy Mohta is a third-year Economics and finance major with a concentration in entrepreneurship at Ashoka University. His experiences at A.T Kearney, Laburnum Capital, and Tata Capital have given him great insights into the world of Finance, consulting, and the manner in which businesses operate in the real world. He also leads the Ashoka Investments Club and is a Portfolio Manager at Bodhi Capital. Apart from investing, he finds solace in reading, poker, and cricket.

Vedaansh is an Economics graduate from Ashoka University where he is pursuing a fourth ASP year studying Sociology-Anthropology and Environmental Studies. He wishes to critically examine global environmental issues, problems, and their solutions and understand the impacts of these issues on social justice and exclusion at multiple scales. With his plethora of experiences as a policy research intern at organizations like the Centre for Policy Research, and Governance, he wishes to pursue a career in environmental justice and policymaking in the future.
Vrinda Garg

Vrinda Garg is a third-year Economics major and International Relations minor. She is interested in the space of consulting and more research-oriented roles in Finance. She would love to help you with figuring out the world of consulting and finance and the kind of opportunities that exist in this space within and outside Ashoka. She has experience in both domains through her internship at DE Shaw as a financial research associate and in her capacity as the vice president of the Ashoka Consulting Club.

Vernika Mrig is an ASP24 Economics major and International Relations Minor. She can help with questions related to these, plus Ashoka in general. She also went to Yale for a semester and would love to help you out with all the logistics related to a semester abroad. She also applying for master's in economics and is open to catering questions to this as well!

Sudarshan RSA

Sudarshan is a 4th year. He majored in Economics and took a lot of courses in mathematics. This year, he is writing an Econ thesis. His experience and comparative advantage lie in empirical research. He also has a few stray experiences in having worked in startups and government. Sudarshan has also worked as a consultant in the World Bank but apart from that he likes video games and slacking off.
JAGRIT KHATRI

Jagrit is a third year BSc economics and finance major from Nagpur. He has gained practical experience through his internships at Anand Rathi (a trading and advisory firm), Campus fund (student run VC fund) and Julius Baer (wealth management firm) and he’ll be joining DE Shaw as financial research associate post his third year. At Ashoka, he’s the President of the Economics Society and an analyst at Bodhi capital. Apart from these experiences, he really enjoys reading up about different businesses, and startups, and finance in general. In his free time he loves travelling, playing sports, watching football, meeting new people and simply just binging sitcoms, movies and Messi highlights.
VAISHNAVI SHIVANI NAKIREKANTI

Vaishnavi Shivani is an Economics and Finance major, with a concentration in Psychology. She is currently the Vice-President at the Economics society and also the Economics and Finance Student Representative. She loves studying subjects with an interdisciplinary lens and has dabbled in a lot of different fields. She has experience working in consulting, social impact, financial markets, research and academia. She has interned at KPMG, UC Berkeley Haas, and Publicis Sapient. She is happy to answer any questions on navigating academics, internships and just general life at Ashoka.

Joy is a third-year EconFin major. He has keen interest in consulting and VC space. He has interned at Deloitte and 1Crowd (Equity Crowdfunding Firm) in the past, and is currently a Student Investment Associate at Campus Fund (a student-run VC fund). He is also currently serving as the President of the Ashoka University Economics Society. He is also a part of ABC, ANC, Vistaar and 180DC. For his personal interests, he loves playing basketball and the guitar. He is happy to answer any questions on life at Ashoka, managing clubs/socs, resume preparation, or internships!!
